Welcome to The Refuge, LLC (Online Community Yoga Studio). These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of therefuge.community (“Site”), including all content, services, products, virtual classes, retreat registrations, teacher training programs, forums, courses, immersions, and related programming (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing or using the Site or Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to register for any virtual classes, retreats, private lessons, or teacher training programs. By using the Site, you represent that you meet this requirement.

2. Use of the Website

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes. You may not:

  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site or servers.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site.
  • Use the Site to distribute harmful code or spam.
  • Copy, distribute, or misuse content that you do not own or have permission to use.
  • Send other members messages that harass, threaten, or advertise to them.

We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, or restrict access at our sole discretion.

3. Virtual Classes

3.1 Scheduling & Access

Virtual classes may be hosted on third-party platforms such as Zoom or similar services. You are responsible for ensuring you have a stable internet connection and appropriate device to participate.

3.2 Payments

Payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise stated. All purchases are final unless a refund is explicitly stated in our cancellation policy.

If you cancel a class you paid for before it starts, or we remove you from it, what you paid becomes a credit, which can be used on any class, recording or program for 12 months and is not refunded to your card. A program with its own terms, such as a retreat, immersion or training, follows those terms instead.

A single live class may be booked on its own. If we cancel a class, we refund you in full automatically: what you paid by card to your card, and any credit you used to your credits. A recording bought on its own may be watched for 30 days from purchase.

When a class is full, you may join its waitlist. A place that opens goes to the next person waiting, and we will tell you when it is yours. A class held both online and in person has no limit online; its waitlist is for a place in the room, and you may book online while you wait.

If a class changes from online to in person only, or from in person to online only, after you have booked, we will tell you, and you can choose on the class page: move your place to the class’s new format, joining the waitlist if the room is full, or cancel your place. If you paid for your place, moving in person costs the difference between the online and in-person prices, moving online gives you that difference as a credit, and canceling gives you what you paid as a credit. If you have not chosen by the time the class starts, a place in the room of a class now online moves online, with the difference as a credit, and any other place is canceled, what you paid becoming a credit. These credits can be used on any class, recording or program for 12 months and are not refunded to your card.

3.3 Guest Passes

Members we have given guest passes to, such as founding members, may give them, and any member may buy a guest pass for somebody for a class sold on its own, at that class’s price. A guest pass is for one other person, for one class, and lasts 90 days. A pass bought for a class whose guest already has a place in it may be used for another class instead. If a bought guest pass is refunded, the pass, or the place its guest took with it, ends. If the guest cancels their place, or it is canceled because its class changed how it is held, what was paid for the pass becomes a credit for the person who bought it. A guest whose pass was for a place online pays the difference to move into the room when the class becomes in person only.

3.4 Health & Safety

By participating in virtual classes, you acknowledge that physical exercise involves inherent risks. You agree to practice within your limits and release the Company from liability for injuries or damages resulting from participation (see Section 11).

4. Retreat Registration

4.1 Deposits & Payments

Retreats require a non-refundable deposit. Remaining balances must be paid by the stated deadline. Failure to pay may result in release of your reservation.

Where a program takes a deposit, the remaining balance is charged to the card you paid the deposit with on the date shown when you booked, and we will remind you a week before. If that charge does not go through, you will have 7 days to pay the balance before your place is released. Deposits are non-refundable.

4.2 Cancellations & Refunds

Refunds vary by retreat and will be outlined in the retreat details. Generally:

  • Deposits are non-refundable.
  • Cancellations within 60 days of the retreat start date may not qualify for refunds. This will vary by retreat, so please review the retreat details.
  • If the Company cancels a retreat, registrants will receive a full refund or credit.

When we cancel a retreat, immersion, training or other program, we give each registrant a credit for everything they paid. A credit can be used on any class, recording, course or program, and lasts 12 months from the date it is given. If you would rather have a refund, you may ask for one within 14 days of the cancellation, and we will refund what you paid by card; any part you paid with an earlier credit remains a credit.

We are not responsible for travel costs, including airfare or third-party accommodations.

4.3 Travel & Insurance

Participants are responsible for obtaining travel insurance, passports/visas, and any required medical clearances.

5. Teacher Training Registration

5.1 Requirements

Teacher training programs may have prerequisites, which will be listed in the program description. By enrolling, you confirm that you meet all requirements.

5.2 Payments & Refunds

A non-refundable deposit is typically required. Refund eligibility is outlined in each program’s policy. Missed sessions may not be eligible for makeup hours unless explicitly permitted.

5.3 Certification

Certification upon completion is not guaranteed; it depends on attendance, participation, and successful completion of course requirements.

6. Blog Content

The blog may contain educational, informational, or opinion-based material. Content does not constitute medical advice, professional instruction, or legal guidance. Use information at your own discretion.

All blog content is owned by the Company and may not be copied or reproduced without permission.

7. Account Creation

You may be required to create an account to access certain Services. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information.
  • Keep your login details confidential.
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

We may suspend or delete accounts for misuse or violation of these Terms.

If we suspend your account, you will not be able to sign in, any membership will be canceled with no further charges, your places in classes still to come will be released, and amounts already paid are not refunded, including for a class you paid for but can no longer attend. While your account is suspended you will not earn referral rewards.

8. Payments & Billing

All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and are subject to change without notice. We accept the payment methods listed on the Site. You authorize us or our payment processor to charge your payment method for all purchases.

8.1 Memberships

Memberships are billed monthly and renew automatically until canceled. You may cancel at any time from your billing page; you keep access until the end of the month you have paid for, and you will not be charged again. You may change to a different membership at any time. Moving to a higher membership takes effect immediately, and you are charged the difference for the rest of your current month. Moving to a lower membership takes effect at the start of your next month. We do not refund partial months.

Founding members keep their founding price for as long as their founding membership remains active. Changing to a different membership, or canceling, ends the founding price; your founding member status and recognition remain. If the first payment for a founding membership is refunded in full, the founding membership ends.

Memberships bought before the studio opens are first charged on the date shown at checkout.

A membership may begin with a free trial, as shown at checkout. A free trial is offered once, to somebody who has not had a membership or a gift membership with us before. Your card is saved when the trial starts and nothing is charged until it ends; the membership is then billed monthly as above unless you cancel from your billing page before the trial ends.

Studio members receive a discount on programs, shown at checkout. A promo code can be used once per person, and is not combined with a member discount.

If a membership payment does not go through, we will keep trying your card, and you will not be able to book new classes with that membership until it does. If it has still not gone through after 14 days, your places in classes still to come are released, and the membership is paused until the payment is made.

8.2 Gift Memberships

A gift membership is paid once, for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, and does not renew. It starts when the person it is for opens it, or when the studio opens if that is later, or when a gift of the same membership they already have ends. If a gift membership is refunded, it ends, whether or not it has been opened.

8.3 Referral Rewards

When somebody joins The Refuge through your referral link and keeps their membership for 90 days of paid membership, you earn a reward. For a member, it is a $20 credit on your own membership when they join at the Studio or Teacher’s Circle membership. For a teacher or affiliate, it is a payment with your pay: $20 when they join at the Studio or Teacher’s Circle membership, or $5 when they join the On-Demand Library alone. No reward is earned for the Lounge membership. A reward is earned once per person you refer. Rewards are not earned for joining through your own link, and not while your account is suspended or after it is closed. We may change or end the referral program at any time; a reward you have already earned is kept.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, videos, class materials, blog posts, and digital downloads, is the property of The Refuge or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without written permission.

10. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or actions of any third-party sites.

11. Liability Disclaimer

By using the Site and participating in virtual classes, retreats, or teacher training programs, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Physical activities carry inherent risks.
  • You are participating voluntarily and assume full responsibility for your health and safety.
  • You release The Refuge, LLC (Online Community Yoga Studio), its instructors, employees, and affiliates from liability for injuries, losses, or damages arising from your participation or use of the Site.

This limitation applies to the fullest extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Refuge from all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Site or any violation of these Terms.

13. Privacy Policy

Use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your information. By using the Site, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Site signifies acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes must be resolved in courts located in Nevada.
